Every pedal stroke represents resilience, every crowd’s cheer echoes solidarity, and every kilometer covered brings us closer to a future where stigma is replaced by support and dignity.

Transforming Stigma into Strength

In a society where people with addiction are often pushed to the margins, Zinduka offers a bold alternative: compassion. The campaign began with a football contest that changed the lives of over 60 recovering individuals by giving them visibility, purpose, and pride. That success proved that sports can break stereotypes and rebuild lives. Zinduka now extends this transformative power through cycling, using public events and media campaigns to educate communities, challenge myths, and promote the truth that people in recovery are not burdens but warriors with stories of strength and redemption.

5,000 Cyclists | 5 Million Reached

With an estimated 5,000 participants and a digital reach targeting over 5 million citizens, the Zinduka Bicycle Challenge is one of the largest recovery centered awareness campaigns in the country. Cyclists from all backgrounds will traverse cities, towns, and rural roads to deliver a message that cannot be ignored: recovery is real, and support saves lives. Whether online or on the ground, the campaign builds a human bridge between those suffering in silence and the services, hope, and understanding they need to rebuild. It is activism in motion literally.

Empowering Communities

Behind Zinduka’s success is a coalition of committed partners UKORC, KURUJA, volunteers, sponsors, and recovery advocates mobilizing resources and energy across 10 regions. These organizations understand that addiction is not just a personal issue but a community challenge. Their mission is not only to support individuals in recovery but also to educate families, train local leaders, and activate youth as change makers. Through bicycle rallies, workshops, and community engagement, Zinduka is planting seeds of empathy and resilience at every stop on its national journey.

From Football to Bicycles

Zinduka began as a football event and it was a powerful start. Now, with the 2025 Bicycle Challenge, the campaign shifts gears, literally and figuratively. Bicycles represent movement, progress, and endurance all values that mirror the recovery journey. This new chapter builds on momentum and aims to reach even more people through visibility and inclusion. As the tires roll forward on Tanzanian soil, they carry the weight of thousands of stories, each one a testimony that no one is beyond hope and every journey forward begins with a single step or in this case, a single ride.
